new photos
Hello everyone, Just thought I'd let you know I have some new photos posted on the "Sonny photos" page. I didn't bring my "good camera" to Louisiana this time so the quality isn't as good as I would have liked but hey, they are still photos to share and it was a lot of fun. More will be coming later in the next couple of weeks when I have some more time to get some uploaded (from Jim) Take care all and hope everyone is well and having a great summer. Genny |

Coool!! Thanks for sharing these, Genny! Looks like they were really enjoying themselves, especially in the May shots. Do you remember what song they did with the brass band? And with Tab? (I'd LOVE to see that duet!!) Thought I heard a rumour about a Stones song... |

I can't remember what the song was for sure but I believe it was a Stones song... maybe it was "It's all Over Now?" perhaps someone else will remember. Genny |

The effects of the mirrors at Papa Mojo's are particularly cool.

Great photos Jim (as always) and I love the effects in the Papa Mojo's photos.... digital photography is amazing in the right hands. Thanks so much for sharing your photos... I always look forward to new photos and it just so happens I've had a small flood here so I have two more shows going up soon... another submission from the Visulite as well as photos from Louisville that Bill sent me permission to use. So, keep your eyes open for those to come soon as I have a couple days off to work on pages and since today was the first day we saw some blue in the sky, I've been staying in doors... tomorrow may be a better day to get outside as the air seems to be much cleaner here now (at least right here anyway). I'm hoping to get down to Santa Cruz... not 100% on that yet... still pending work... and life in general... we'll see. If so I'm taking my good camera. Gen |

Hey, I just stand there and release the shutter early and often. The doozie action all comes from the other side of the camera. %-) I wanted to kick myself for not getting to Papa Mojo's earlier to case the place out. Now I know, for next time. ;-) |

Hey Jim, Does that mean your going to the show in Sept? Hope you can make it...is Flat Rock near you too? You could do a two night in a row thing again. Gen |

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention... in case you don't scroll down the list a bit (on the photos page) to watch for newly added shows that aren't "new"... I finally have those photos up from Festival Acadiens 06 of Sonny with the Traiteurs that Bill B. sent me a while back. Looks like they were having lots of fun up there... wish I had been there too. Flat Rock and Durham are in opposite directions from me, and about two hours away each. But hey, if Sonny is playing anywhere in the Carolinas, I'll keep my part of the bargain. ;-) |

C'mon, now--If I can make the trip from ol' Virginny, it should be a cakewalk for y'all! I'm even considering the GA show. (Gas? We don't need no stinkin' gas...)

And glad to see that Vikas took my advice & sent along his images! Love those action shots...and the ones of Dave (is that a smile??), especially the horizontal one with the lights along the right side. |

I liked that one too (the one with Dave you are speaking of C) It's almost like this photo is in two tones (color wise) Sonny and Mikes side is so warm with the browns, oranges, reds... and then Dave seems to be set apart from everyone else on the "cool side" with the blues from those lights. Interesting feel to the photo. I wish I had a way to get to those shows all the way over there in N.C! But it's more than a few hours drive for me... hmm... wonder if there is a nursing conf. at that time in the area???? hmm... what a thought. Genny |

Ya know, Duke is right there... the Triangle is a huge medical magnet. Check it out!!! With Mel in the mix, we're guaranteed to hear the Bayou Rhythm stuff--songs that many of us probably never heard live before! Not to mention possibly some of Mel's Wicked Mojo tunes...
