I wrote to my MP on 17 January and had a reply yesterday to the effect that he had written to the Minister of Defence. Not marvellous, I know but if the MoD were to get 50 - or more - letters from different MPs, representing constituencies across the whole of the UK, that might have some effect. WE CAN BUT TRY.
Can I ask you all to give ten minutes to this?
The points to stress, if you haven't followed the case, are: 1 These young men, most of them amputees, need a swimming pool to regain mobility. 2 They have suffered abuse when using the local public baths. 3 The provision has been left to charity . 4 The Government owes it to them to get it done now.
The easiest way to write is to go to
www.writetothem.com
and just follow the instructions. Alternatively go to
www.parliament.uk
where you will find your MP's email address ( all but the backwoodsmen have them. Mine doesn't. |
