One week from today there is to be a meeting at the National Memorial Arboretum.
It will claim to be an AGM or EGM of the BETFOR Association. But that is a pretense; the Boylian Horde are not entitled to use the name of the BETFOR Association, now protected under a Certificate of Incorporation.
They will deny that statement, but by now you would expect that from them.
More importantly, consider this carefully:
There will be an attempt to create an association. The controller will be Roy Boyles, who professed to me months ago that he did not seek the office of Chairman or Treasurer, because it is the Secretary that has the control.
He has set himself up as 'Acting Secretary' of a 'Standing Committee', of which the other members have never been publicly named. And Ray Griffiths has declared himself 'Interim Chairman' of an 'Interim Committee', of which the other members have never been publicly named.
Doesn't that raise some suspicion in your mind?
But here is where it turns into a Penny Dreadful ...
Just go back now and at look at the posts on the Roi and Regine message board: the 'dissidents' led by Roy Boyles - Harry Dixon, Fred Greenwood, Ray Griffiths, Colin Russell, and Peter Sexton - who make nearly every post.
(Derek Parkey asks that I drop his name from among the dissidents, to which I agree, even though he would not discuss this privately with me.)
Consider the viciousness and exaggerations with which the dissidents attack the present officers of the present Association, on and on and on.
Yes, there have been some problems. But would you try to talk reasonably with a mad dog? Or reason with the one-track mind of a Roy Boyles who wants nothing more than "for Richard Griffiths to be removed from the role as Chairman of the BETFOR ASSN as swiftly as possible", whatever the cost? Is it any wonder that the present officers refuse to come to the Roi and Regine message board, or even appear on the official BETFOR Association message board, to be attacked, insulted, cursed? No! And that is exactly the feeling that open-minded members have expressed to us privately. They will not face that same kind of attack.
If a new association is your choice, I wish you well. BUT I pray you do not allow Roy, Harry, Fred, Ray, Colin, or Peter to hold any office or have any position of responsibility in it.
Judge those people by their behavior toward others. Would you have the courage to disagree with any of them as officers of a new association? For your own peace of mind, I hope not.
