End of the message board
Well that's it. The message board WILL close down. Why? Because for some reason people have to hand out abuse to others and they haven't got the guts to put a name to it. This is a dirty tactic, every bit as bad as any tackle, but more cowardly because you're doing it behind a mask of anonimity. The league have tried message boards twice and we really hoped the abuse had ceased. Obviously we had too much mis-placed faith in human nature. |

Believe me. I'm not having a go at any team who defend themselves. I have only seen Ladzio once (at a cup final) and there were no problems at all. I just feel that the sort of anonymous posts attacking clubs is probably worse than most things we see on the field of play. And it's cowardly, because they obviously haven't the guts to say who they are. It will make some people draw concusions about Ladzio or other clubs attacked on the postings and others draw conclusions about who the cowards are. In my playing days we had run-ins with some clubs and I also know some teams didn't like us. Other clubs would have no problems about playing teams we had troubles with and we would hear bad things about teams and find everything ok when we met each other. I feel it's all to do with your state of mind on the day. What I will do is give the message board one more week to see if things settle down. However if the verbal graffiti morons start up again, I will simply pull the plug. |

peter i understand your points about the forum over the last few wks that some people cant give there names and hide behind fake names, and act like kids , but in this day and age of the internet is there not a way that only by useing a password given to each club that they could then use the forum ,and any wrongfull comments the said club would have to answer to you ! |

If I can make a suggestion on this matter - try this link http://www.proboards.com/index.html Excellent, free message board/forum which you can set up so that only registered users can view/post. It doesn't suffer from popups either which seems to be a big problem with this board. I have set a few up for other leagues/clubs and they are absolutely superb and a much better interface all round... |

Peter, on some of these message boards you have the ability to see the IP address of each poster. If you can do this you can then simply restrict that IP address from posting. You should find it in the admin options. Also, depending on how far you want to take it you can actually contact the service provider and locate where and whom the posts are coming from. Just a thought. |
