If you have any REALIBLE info that needs to be posted - please list it here or email (on the main index page) privately. This abuse has got to be stopped. Thank you Please do not buy from pet stores or puppymills. Adopt a shelter baby- you will be saving a life (Two actually) The one you adopt & also a puppymill baby.

TO THE WEBMASTER AND ANY OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THIS WEBSITE: Your article about the abuses by the Humane Society of Central Louisiana are untrue and hurting a hardworking group of people who foster in their own homes. HSCL HAS NO INCINERATOR OR SHELTER BUILDING. The unpaid volunteers use their own homes and personal money to feed, bathe, deflea, worm, provide beds and toys, and transportation for the animals in their care. This small group does NOT euthanize until absolutely forced to do so, by illness or uncontrollably dangerous disposition. THEN THE ANIMALS ARE TRANSPORTED TO A LICENSED, PRIVATE VETERINARIAN AND USUALLY THE FOSTER MOM AND SUPPORTIVE FRIENDS STAY AND LOVE ON THE ANIMAL UNTIL IT HAS GENTLY PASSED ON. CRYING ON THE WAY OUT. Humane Society of Central Louisiana tries to work with ANY animal group in the Central Louisiana area in a spirit of COOPERATION-- in an effort to provide for the wellbeing of homeless and unwanted pets. IF ONE OF THE GROUPS HAS AN ANIMAL THAT WILL SUIT AN APPLICANT TO HSCL, WE WILL ASSIST BY NOT ONLY REFERRING THE PERSON TO THE OTHER GROUP, BUT OFTEN ARRANGE TO ACCOMPANY THE APPLICANT TO EASE THE PLACEMENT. This is considered cooperation and caring in most circles. Your article is perpetuating a great disservice to our organization AND THE ANIMALS WE TRY TO SERVE. My response is in reference to the Humane Society of Central Louisiana and the false allegations that are circulating online about this organization and its members. I can attest personally to the fact that what is being posted is false. My association with this group of hardworking people has been through my active participation with several other legitimate rescue groups over the past 7 years. I agree totally with Ms. Peters that they do indeed work amiably with all other rescue organizations as well as the animal shelters. They have worked with our group closely and are dedicated to their mission, giving of personal time and money with no recognition. Their ultimate goal is ONLY for the welfare of the animals they rescue. They utilize every effort in saving an animal that other groups would probably have euthanized right off. They DO NOT have an incinerator to dispose of the animals. With their help, last year alone they assisted our group in rescuing and placing over 380 dogs. They have had an unblemished reputation in our area for many years. It is hurtful to read online what is being falsely fabricated about this group. I wish that you could walk in their shoes and be here to see the good they do for God's creatures. I am hoping that someone can dispell this online fiasco once and for all. |
