Madison Rec Center Dog Park--Agressive Dogs
Please contact us via email dog@mjscg.com if you're experiencing agressive or unacceptable dog behavior at this park. Many are becoming hesitant to visit the park or to address the issues publically. We are trying to offer a professional but high impact route to communicate the concerns of many. There are approx 10-12 regular offenders that ignore the rules and allow their dogs to attack others. If this is impacting you or you're not seeing it; that's great...maybe it is already improving. If you have been impacted by this issue, please share your experience with us. Thank you... |

We had a problem with Mason District dog park, with a couple whose dog was very aggressive towards puppies. The owners made a big show of dominating the dog and reprimanding him for his actions, but did not show any sign of leaving. I was standing outside of the park and witnessed an event with this family, and the couple had very anxious, concerned expressions on their faces, which could indicate they knew it was inappropriate to have brought their dog there- however, I didn't feel comfortable confronting them, and left myself. It's left a lasting impression that public dog parks are too much of a gamble for us, and I'm forming a private dog run club in my neighborhood, where we can be assured of the safety of the other dogs. This was the only solution I could think of for contributing positively while avoiding potentially dangerous situations for my dog. |
