Personally, I think the best thing the Gambian Tourist Association could do is to lobby Easyjet or Ryanair to include TG in its winter programme.Even if it means susidising one or two flights a week for the first year. Lets face it, if they can fly to The Canaries they could surely manage the extra mileage to Banjul.
Then you would see a real expansion of tourism with all of its positive benefits. Of course there would be some negatives but that is the case with all holiday destinations.
The majority of budget airline travellers want sun, sea and reasonably priced food and drink.
There is very little available in the winter months, hence TG is the perfect destination.
And, like most of us, once theyve been, they will almost cetainly return. Again and again. |
