What your history?
I live in Bolingbrook IL with my wife (sheryll).
I have one son who still lives at home and is getting very good on the guitar.

I still enjoy playing the guitar but have not played a bugle or trumpet in a long time.
I have been an electronic and computer tech for the last 19 years

Re: What your history?

You're my neightbor. I live on
Weber Road in Romeoville but I'm moving to Rt.59 and I-88 in Naperville Saturday.

I'm divorced, my nineteen year old son is in drum corps. Five years in Capital Sound and this past summer in Southwind. He attends the University of Illinois and plays snare with the Marching Illini.

I marched two years in the Imperials, three years in Guardsmen (76, 77, 78), took off some time for good behavior, heheh, and marched 2000 and 2002 with Kilties senior, 2002, and 2003. I'm happily retired. My SO marched honor guard for giggles with the Renegades this past summer. He carried the American flag. There's a pic of us here:

I own a small business and I don't have any plans to march again. Just watching the juniors seems to be the ticket for me.

Re: What your history?

Born in Joliet, IL (Dad and Steve still live there, in the same house). Started playing drums when I was 4 years old. Joined the Cavalier Cadets in the winter of 1969 (age 10), but they weren't ready to field a corps that year, so they suggested I check out Norwood's cadet corps. Marched with Norwood's cadets in 1970-71, then the A corps in 1972-73. Moved back to Cavaliers for 1974-76, then took off 1977 to work (getting ready to go to Northwestern). Returned to Norwood in 1978-79, first as an instructor but then marched drum major as well, then aged out in 1980 with the Spirit of Atlanta. Lived in Georgia until 1996, became a band director, married, had 2 sons, divorced after 10 years, remarried (gaining a stepson). Moved to Orlando in 1996, now teaching elementary music and working with the local high school band. Dad, former Norwood quartermaster and cadet manager, marched past 5 years with Kilties, but is retiring from corps now. Brother Steve also marched: 1970-72 with Norwood cadets, 1973 with the A corps, 1974-76 with the Cavaliers. Almost rejoined me with Norwood in 1978-79, but couldn't quite get him to do it.

Re: What your history?

Bob; You went to NU? I studied piano there when I lived in Skokie - couldn't afford it full time. The piano pedagogy program was a private piano lesson, duo-piano lesson, and a music theory class on Saturdays. It really prepared me to study music later on at Illinois State. I just loved to walk through Willard Hall (just hearing everyone warming up was so cool) and I also played in a few recitals in Lutkin Hall. What fun!

Re: What your history?

Cheryl,

Yes, I spent my first two years of college at Northwestern, then took a year off to age out of drum corps with Spirit of Atlanta - never did return to the North to live after that. It was my Northwestern connection that brought me back to Norwood - Joe Donnelly was there, and asked me to help him and his brother John teach the Cadet corps the winter of my freshman year. In the spring Bill Strauts asked me to help with the A corps, and I spent the next two season teaching the drum line and marching drum major.
