Drum Corps Championship trivia

While researching NP Imperials placements in National contests, (see the website www.corpsreps.com), I noticed that there have been only a half dozen junior corps which have attained more than a few national titles.

These include:

. Holy Name/ Garfield Cadets - 17!
(1st in 1940, latest in 2000)
. Cavaliers – 15 (1st in 1967,
latest in 2004)
. Blue Devils – 11 (1st in 1976,
latest in 2003)
. St. Vincent Cadets – 10 (1st in 1946,
last in 1956)
. Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights – 9
(1st in 1954, last in 1963)
. Santa Clara Vanguard- 8 (1st in 1970,
latest in 1999)

Note: VFW and American Legion contests after 1971 were not included.

Norwood Park made finals in 17 national contests from 1948 to 1968, placing:
2nd - 1
3rd - 1
4th - 1
6th - 3
7th - 5
9th - 1
11th - 3
12th - 2
