If you missed it...

The 2007 DCI World Championships broadcast on ESPN2 will be rebroadcast on ESPN2, split into two one-hour episodes first on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. Eastern time and then on Thursday, Sept. 27 also at 2 p.m. Eastern time.

Although I wouldn't have any desire to watch it again, it was worthwhile to see it the first time. You gotta know what is being done out there if you are gonna talk about it.

Set up those recorders!

Well, having seen it, I'd say those who missed it didn't miss much.

BUT .. DO watch to see what is happening!

Speaking of contradicting yourself in the same message?

Re: If you missed it...

not at all. You should see for yourself what is going on .... and then make your own decison.

My opinion was .. not much of interest to us.

Re: If you missed it...

I missed part of it and that was the 1st half, but I
was able to watch the 2nd half. The only two things
I liked about it was when the Cadets(Garfield)was
on the field.

And those two things were that they actually
formed "Three",mind you,"Three'company front's
and I thought that was great to see something
like that again.Even though it was just with
the horn line.

And the second thing I noticed was that they were
back to wearing there original uniforms's which
are classics.

As far as the narration goes,it's not a surprise
to see it and hear it.You have to figure they'll
try anything to be one up on everybody else and
goes for every corps.

The last 5 corps they had in the 2nd part,my
impression of them were it seemed to me that
each drill was very complicated and confusing
to watch.Just too much going on at one time.

Most of the music you couldn't understand, even
the Cavaliers music from Billy Joel.Oh well
as they say "And So Goes"

Re: If you missed it...

I don't remember the Cadets ever wearing anything BUT the classic uniform - pretty much the only thing of "tradition" left in that corps. Maybe you're referring to the "double" uniform they wore the past couple of years, with the normal one on the front and another version on the back, so even when they turned around it looked like they were still facing front, but in a different uniform (who came up with THAT idea!).

The most interesting comment I heard about that actually concerned Norwood. A Cavalier alumni friend of mine described it as "first they're coming at you as the Garfield Cadets, then they turn around and it's the Norwood Park Imperials!" It did kind of resemble those battle jackets (the first set, not the second "bando" set with the sloped shako - I HATED that thing!).

Re: If you missed it...

Bob, a comment has been made about the NP uniforms compared to the Cadets.. "they looked like us standing on our heads" (due to reversed maroon and white).

Re: If you missed it...

Bob, that "double" uniform idea was really STOOOOPID!

Do you think that George Hopkins had a hand in THAT idea too?

Apparently, tradition means nothing to him.

Re: If you missed it...

I think he goes out of his way to DESTROY any tradtion the Cadets, and drum corps in general, may have left. I'm actually surprised he has stuck with the original uniform for this long. And I would imagine he has a hand in EVERY decision made concerning that corps.
