Alumni meetings

We have no ongoing team of alums looking at the subject of periodic alumni meetings. Or planning for anything.

We just do this on an "ad hoc" basis from time to time.

That is OK and has sufficed for a time. But, maybe we should try to form a small group who can focus on developing a more organized approach?

Consider new ideas .. such as an informal, summer, picnic type meeting? A Fall/Winter meeting in a less formal setiing (not a busy restaurant)? Perhaps a catered, buffet style meeting in a community center type facility?

Also, include the settings we have used in the past, for those who prefer that style.

Just thinking.

Re: Alumni meetings

So many Imperials alumni enjoyed the recent "Chicago area alumni" picnic .. especially reconnecting with their old friends .. that I wonder if we could piggy back on this to start an Imperial alumni meeting team? This has never really happened in the past, but the picnic seems to have stirred up some interest.

What if we had a small team of 4-5 people who would plan and organize local Imperials alumni events? Maybe one or two a year. They might also help with Chicago area events (like that in August) as our corps representatives.

Gosh, the Vanguard had a big group there with a special tent. Even the (ugh) Cavaliers had a huge group and a Cavalier tent!

So .. what are your thoughts? Is this another "pipe dream"? OR are any Imperials alums out there ready to step up and help?

This isn't rocket science or a major commitment .. just taking time to organize an event or two.
