Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Today I was Christmas shopping in shorts and a t-shirt, with the AC on in the car and the sunroof open. Even cut the grass this morning!

As much as I love Florida, I've never gotten used to this at Christmas time!

Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Now THAT'S a nice holiday sentiment...

GEEZ! You Northerners are a touchy lot. I always thought we were so much tougher than that! Honestly, I could use some colder weather. It's not easy feeling in the holiday spirit this way.

Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

By Bob's measure, I'm in the holiday spirit big time today! Over 20 inches on the ground!

In case anyone cares, the Bears got here last night and they are preparing for their shellacking. Some say they would have been better off staying home.

Larry, out blowing snow.

Merry Christmas to all.

Do miss the snow at this time of year, but then if I want to see snow and mountains with evergreen trees I can drive up Interstate 80 about 2 hrs into the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Was contemplating going over to Tampa to see Northwestern play against Auburn but that means going to Florida.

Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

And what's wrong with that?

Dave came to Florida last week - and it's 38 degrees in Orlando this morning! Coincidence? I doubt it!

Thanks for making it feel more like Christmas, Dave!

Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Glad to hear that Bob is enjoying the cooler weather!

Yes, we were in Florida last week (Miami for grandson college graduation, then to Marco Island for a family gathering in the sun). Great weather - usually 85 degrees.

Then returned to Chicago and 22 degrees.

CHRISTMAS 2010

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope that you are in good health and spirits.

We had great fun reconnecting with many corps friends at the reunion picnic in August. Plans are being made to do this event again in 2011 .. in early September, just after Labor Day.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas, filled with the joy of family and friends. May your dreams be realized, your goals achieved and your family remain close during the coming year.

BUT, if I hear from Bob Schreffler about how he is cutting grass in his shorts & shirtsleeves in December, I will send him some snow!

Re: BEST WISHES FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS

Are you kidding? With this arm, I can't even do Christmas decorating! In fact, I'm waiting on my son to come over right now to get stuff out of the attic and up on the roof, neither of which I can currently do.

And if it makes you feel better, we were in the 40s this week, and are supposed to be again next week, at least in the mornings.
