AMAZING news!

Those of you who have kept us in your prayers these past 16 months will appreciate this. Yesterday we bought Shary a CAR! Not bad for dead, huh?

In many ways, it's been like raising a child again, only in a more compressed period of time. So now I'm the nervous parent again, watching her take to the road!

January 7, 2007 - told I might have to turn off the machines

June, 2007 - walking

April, 2008 - driving

Praise the Lord! And thanks again for all of your prayers from Norwood land!

Re: AMAZING news!

Bob, That is great news.
We already knew she was faster than you, now being in a car will be even faster.
Your going to have to tell us when she gets a ticket.

Re: AMAZING news!

It's always great to hear good news about a fellow member or spouse of a member! Just make sure that no alligators get in the back seat of her car.

The alligator wouldn't fit - it's a Hyundai Accent.

And George, are you calling my wife a fast woman? After I was so nice to your daughter...

Re: AMAZING news!

Bob, I think that fast is different than loose?

And, maybe he just meant that she moves faster than you. (You ARE aging)

But your an old man now and I'm sure she keeps you on your feet.

Re: AMAZING news!

Shary is driving great, and loving her new little car! It has given her a sense of freedom that she lost 16 months ago, and really helped her mental attitude.

We are going to a discussion/book signing at the local Barnes and Noble tonight for Mark McEwen's stroke book, which Shary contributed a comment to on the back of the book. If you're ever in a bookstore, check it out. The book is "A Change in the Weather", and her comment appears on the bottom of the back cover - along with the first President Bush, Tony Bennet, and Harry Smith. Bill Cosby wrote the forward. Better yet, pick up a copy - it's a quick, interesting read.
