OLD FASHIONED DRUM CORPS SUMMER FUN

Wow. Here is summer time again.

Miss the drum corps shows at small town festivals. Mendota corn fest, Kewanee Pork fest, Momence, Woodstock, McHenry, Madison, Racine, etc.

Food, carnivals, practice time, parades, contest. Bus rides.

Crowds who loved the corps shows.

That was when it didn't matter where you were, you just had fun and looked forward to the next weekend and the next set of shows. (don't forget parades).

Re: OLD FASHIONED DRUM CORPS SUMMER FUN

Steve,

I TRY to forget parades...except in the Cadets, because that was most of what you did, and ANY performance was fun, especially if the 'A' corps was also there.

But corn dogs at the fairs, THAT'S another story! Couldn't get enough of those!

Bob, I thought you were too busy picking up girls from other corps to notice the food. The best food I found was Momence. But I usually stuck to the Funnel cakes.
