In thinking how China executed a flawless opening ceremony and how Chicago is in the running to host the Olympics, I've come up with an idea of what the opening ceremony would look like if Chicago hosts the Olympics.

The opening ceremony reflects the culture of the host city and country. Therefore, my ideas are centered on in the culture of Chicago:

* I can imagine Chicago Olympic opening Ceremony - Blues Brothers with Italian Beef, Pizza & Hotdogs passed around

* We could have Ronnie Woo Woo, the Empire Carpet Guy & have the Victory Auto-Wreckers guy open a car door in 1970's clothing

* The 85 Bears could come out & do Superbowl Shuffle live - Then recreate the Chicago fire, have a cow kickover a lantern

* Then we could have a recreation of the 1968 convention while we all eat hotdogs, pizza & garrets popcorn

* Of course the Bucketboys would be there to lead the athletes in with their drumming

* Mrs. O'Leary's cow kicks over lantern to light the torch-Moo & Oink make an appearance along with Staley & Benny the Bull

* We could recreate the St. Valentines day massacre - Then have fake snow blown in to recreate blizzards of 79 & 67

* Use giant fans to generate 60mph winds because we are the Windy City-Pass out Tootsie Rolls to the crowd

* Sam Sianis brings out the goat to curse the other Olympic teams

* During opening ceremony, Soldier field will have pot holes that performers will have to avoid

* Then during the opening ceremonies, Streets & Sans blocks off parts of stadium to fix them

* Performers carry orange barrels and construction horses and march around with them as our tribute to road construction

* A faint smell of rotten onions will waft thru the air to remind everyone that Chicago is Native American for rotten onions. Once the onion smell fades it will be replaced by a strong chocolate smell

* The guy that walks around who looks like Yanni will be designated torch bearer that gives torch to be kicked over by cow

* An electric rail will be installed under Soldier Field & Performers will have to march around it in addition to potholes

* Lincoln Park towing will make an appearance to tow all wheeled performance platforms on and off the field

* Instead of confetti everyone is showered with parking tickets-If you catch one, you have to pay-Way to generate $ for city

* After the Torch is lit & right before ceremony ends, Tom Skilling gives a live detailed weather forecast using giant screen

* Different Chicago cultures march in representing each section of Chicago dressed in traditional costume... North Siders wear Cubs regalia; South-Side Irish wear green & Sox clothes, Little Italy; China Town; etc. are represented

* All former living Bears Quarterbacks march in tossing footballs to each other and dropping them

* Steve Dahl blows up Disco albums & audience in stands rush the field avoiding electric rail & potholes-Big Party ensues

* Ron May demands / collects everyones business card as they enter and exit Soldier Field

* John Cusack-Eddie Veder-Bill Murray-Vince Vaughn-Harold Ramis-Gary Sinise-John Malkovich, Sing Take Me Out To The Ball Game

* Jenny McCarthy flashes the crowd

* R. Kelly; Cheap Trick, Chicago (the Band); Styx; Common; & REO Speedwagon all sing Star Spangled Banner together

* Dead zombies rise from a cemetery in Soldier Field and line up to vote!!!

* While swat teams rapel down the sides of the stadium chanting "hut hut hut"

* The Jessie White Tumblers are the highlight of the opening ceremonies & do their tricks on wires in the air

Jim, don't forget the folks from the annual "Gay and Lesbian pride" parade on the North side! They'd be a BIG hit for the opening ceremonies !!

I'd dump the Chicago Bears Quarterbacks and substitute Playboy Bunnies and Hugh Hefner (assuming his doctor's keep him alive that long).
