The Cadisappointments!

Last year, the Cavaliers alumni performed, in big numbers, at the DCI semi-finals, in celebration of their 60th anniversary. The year before, the Anaheim Kingsmen alums performed at semis at the Rose Bowl, also in big numbers. The year before that, the Madison Scouts put on a great show, with a huge number of alums marching and playing, at semis in Madison. All of these 3 shows were terrific... I saw them all. All were full-motion shows, not stand-stills, and all 3 were met with long standing ovations from the crowd. What a treat each of these alumni corps were! 2009... the 75th anniversary of the Cadets. So many of us were anticipating yet another great alumni show, in full uniform (as were the other alumni corps the last few years). Go Cadets Alums!

The Cadets alumni did nothing. Nothing at all... nothing. NOTHING! Oh well....

Re: The Cadisappointments!

I hadn't thought about that until you mentioned it. Since that has been the norm lately, I wonder why Garfield decided not to do it? I'm sure Hoppy had something to do with it, but I'm still looking for people behind the grassy knoll...

What did you do in the Corps? Snare; Drum Major; Drum Instructor/Arrnager

Re: The Cadisappointments!

I can't speak for the Cadets alumni, but my opinion is that they did their anniversary the way THEY wanted to!

Maybe it is "the norm" to field a big alumni corps but they seem to have decided it wasn't for them. Instead, they had HUGE alumni gatherings, receptions, a gala dinner with HOF awards, a family picnic and other events. Their focus was on reconnecting with other alums.

BTW, they did have a small alumni corps which appeared at various events, along with the 2009 Cadets at a contest they sponsored.

see the HNC alumni website at www.theholynamecadets.org for some information.
