JACK BORNHOEFT

Message received from Jack Bornhoeft, one of our founding members (1926-1933). He had a recent health problem and is now doing well.

Jack is back!

To my many friends who are wondering where I am back from, here is a short story.

In 2006, during an annual physical, my physician heard a heart sound that was new and sent me to have an echo-cardiogram. It did indicate that my aortic valve was not opening fully, but not to worry.

In Feb 2010, just before leaving for Florida he advised me to have another echo-cardiogram. This time he indicated that the valve was closed to the point where I had to see a Cardiologist. I made an appointment for an angio-gram on Friday April 9th that confirmed that a serious problem existed so had open heart surgery on Tuesday April 13th. All went very well and I am home and having therapy to put my "wheels" back in shape so that I can discard a cane.

Thanks much for cards and prayers. Prayers were answered and the procedure was a cake walk.

Kindest regards to all with gratitude.

Jack
