Drum Corps Collectors & Historical Society

This might be worth a look if you are attending DCI this August!

-----------------------------------------------------------------
A little more than a year ago, we announced the formation of the Drum Corps Collectors & Historical Society. Since making that original announcement, we've been thrilled by the tremendously positive response we've received from hundreds of drum corps history buffs, enthusiasts and memorabilia collectors from around the world.

As a part of the 2010 Drum Corps International World Championships this summer in Indianapolis, we are planning to create an exhibition hall adjacent to the high-traffic "Festival Marketplace" souvenir area on the lower level of Lucas Oil Stadium. This exhibition hall is intended specifically for those who wish to share their collections with those attending the Championship events. The gathering will also provide an opportunity for us to meet and to discuss the vision for the future of this Society. We are hoping to foster an annual exhibition which will grow each year, enabling collectors to share their passion with fellow collectors and with drum corps fans new and old, and to facilitate a new appreciation for the colorful history and evolution of the drum corps art form, from its earliest origins and deepest roots tracing all the way back to the battlefield.

In order to adequately plan the space necessary to accommodate as many exhibitors as possible, we need to determine the level of potential interest in this project. If you would like to take part in this historical exhibition of drum corps memorabilia and historical artifacts, please fill out the online interest form by Monday, May 24, 2010.

Click here to access the online form.

Once we are able to determine the level of interest, size and scope of the exhibition area, etc., you will be contacted with more information. You can also watch DrumCorpsWorld.com, DCI.org and DCAcorps.org for additional information as well.
We realize that there may be several collectors who don't have access to e-mail or who may not frequent the internet. If you know of anyone in this situation, please pass along their contact information so we can be sure to invite them to participate. You can also feel free to share this e-mail with them. We want to include as many people as possible to make this inaugural effort a tremendous testament to the passion we have for the history of drum corps and an illustration of our commitment to preserve the great memories of those who've shared the competition field for many years. We expect that this may be the largest exhibition of this type of memorabilia ever assembled, and we hope that you will be a part of history by joining us.

Please join us in making this "grand exhibition" a great success! Please respond no later than Monday, May 24, so we can be sure to accommodate the greatest number of folks.

Thanks for your support! We'll look forward to hearing from you soon. Feel free to contact either of us with your questions, comments or concerns.
