Note: Cavaliers were 10th, Norwood was 14th.
Also note: the TOP FOUR corps were all from New Jersey .. within 5 miles of each other!

Although corps were smaller in those days, it's still amazing that you could field four corps - and four very GOOD corps - that close together. And that was before the days when people would travel long distances to march with a corps. I don't know if there are four corps in any one STATE these days.

There used to be an urban myth that there was a street corner in Chicago where you could stand on a given night and hear Norwood, the Cavaliers, Royal Airs, and Vanguard all rehearsing.
