What Is Drum Corp?

A long but funny description of drum corp that we've all had in one way or another:

What did you do in the Corps? Baritone

What years were you a Corps member? 70's

Re: What Is Drum Corp?

Pete,

I get the feeling that whoever created the cartoon was definitely not a drummer. It sure does make you understand how outsiders might look at drum corps. The questioner sounds like my oldest daughter who thought we were all demented. I'm not sure, but she may have been closer to the truth than I want to admit.

Re: What Is Drum Corp?

I finally had a chance to listen to this - hysterical! If you remove the stuff about the all-summer tours and the modern approach (electronics, etc.), I think we can all remember having similar conversations with our friends, trying to get them to join. You can make it sound like fun, until you get to the part about PAYING rather than BEING PAID to do it!

What did you do in the Corps? Snare; Drum Major; Drum Instructor/Arranger

What years were you a Corps member? 1970-73; 78-79
