Prayers needed

Note from alumnus Dick Murbach (drummer/ soprano 1943-50). His daughter is very ill and needs a new liver.

------------------------------------------------------

Carol is still waiting for a liver. She is in and out of the hospital as her condition changes but is certainly not doing well. When she is home she has 24 hour care and even if she is not at UCLA she is back and forth to the local hospital in Newport Beach. She has terrible nose bleeds and the other day she had a very small cut on her finger and had to go to the hospital because her blood does not coagulate. She builds up ammonia in her body from time to time and when that happens she is incoherent and is rushed to UCLA for infusions. It's no fun!

Her Meld scores are up and down and that is one of the factors in her getting a liver. The score needs to be over 30 to be on the list and she has been as high as 37 but then she might drop to a score under 30. Also, hers being a second transplant she gets pushed behind the first transplants and the younger people waiting for livers. Her first transplant was when she was 29 and now she will be 51 next month.

All I can say is that she needs a lot of prayers!

Dick
