Lockwood Castle

For those who remember going to Lockwood Castle after practice during the week. Today it is......A STARBUCKS!! imagine that.

What did you do in the Corps? baritone and Drum Major

What years were you a Corps member? 1968-1972

Sad to hear that. I suppose that change is inevitable, but the Lockwood Castle was a great place. Never did the ice cream monster creations myself, but did take the kids there to do that.

It was a good lunch & dinner place too.

We LOVED Lockwood Castle! And yes, we did eat the great ice cream creations. Dad, Steve, and I wold go a lot during the winter when we would be up at the AL Post working on equipment.

I remember that they had a 24 scoop ice cream creation (built for groups), but if one person could eat it all .. it was FREE!

Just another icon that has disappeared.

Have spent some time in Jersey City this year and got curious about the fate of Roosevelt Stadium. It's now a gated housing community. I did an internet check and found a number of pictures of the place before they demolished it in the mid-80s. Amazing how that place deteriorated during the time it was abandoned--mid-70s to mid-80s.
