The "Average" drum corps fan?

In a separate post about the recent Rockford show ... Terri Erickson and Bob Shreffler both talked about the "average" drum corps fan:

"Teri raises an interesting point that many of us have probably never thought of before - the "average" fan is not any of us! Yes, we all know you can go watch warmups and such because we marched and have been around it forever. It just never occurred to me that many people don't know that!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Have never really thought about that ... just WHAT is an "average drum corps fan"?

A lot of the attendees at shows are probably former marching members .. corps alumni. Then there are BAND people who want to see a corps show. Maybe some are DANCE enthusiasts?

Each group comes to the performance with different interests and expectations. It will be interesting to see how this develops in the future. "Drum corps" continues to change ...

What is YOUR perspective on this??
