I'm pretty certain the story I just read is about Imperial alumni Tom Walter's company and if so congrats to him and his company Tasty Catering for being named the 2nd best firm in the Chicago area to work for. Just saw the story in this week's Crain's Chicago Business and it looks like it is also available online (but you may need to register)

yes, this is our fellow Imperial Tom Walter. He and Tasty Catering have been gathering such awards for many years.

Tom has also been very active with speaking engagements ... often with university and entreprenurial groups .. advising new managers how to engage their employees in the business.

Tom and his brothers have developed an excellent company with excellent employee and customer practices!

MAYBE the drum corps experience was a help? Maybe some of the drum corps mentors had an impact? I'd like to think so ...
