DCI and progress

I am sure that the gurus at DCI are very happy with what they are doing.

But, I saw an article in my local paper today about how local festivals were no longer able to attract, or even find, musical units for parades and competitions.

Gosh, our corps used to LIVE for these ...parades to pay money (even though the members usually hated them) and contests!

But now, no more local corps contests. DCI rules all. Big bucks needed.

I guess this is 'progress" .

Re: DCI and progress

Here's a good example of what you said Dave. I was at
the Memorial Day Parade in Norwood Park,I'm always
there,I live 2 blocks away from Onahan School and
it brings back good memories. As far as any musical
units, maybe one or two at the most, that was it.
Could of used a couple of Drum corps,to add a nice
touch to it.
