Re: Finally, a FUN, ENTERTAINING Performance

Well, while there could be some questions about the CHARACTER of the Bridgemen, they were still a drum corps. They played music we could recognize, actually had a good rudimental drum line, marched (not danced) and didn't use props. There was no pit, no amplification and no narration.

Their uniforms were considered a bit 'different' at the time, but not much more so than what we see now.

They were fun too (and they enjoyed their shows a lot). I loved the "Bridgemen shuffle'. I'd probably take them over most of the drum corps we see now....

While I appreciate good technical skills (as Bill Blomquist has mentioned with the brass players); you still need a vehicle (performance) which people like. Yes, there are people who enjoy the 'new' way to present a drum corps program. I am NOT one of them.

Probably comes down to what you expect as "fun and entertainment" at a drum corps show!
