NP alumnus- Jim Chitkowski

I recently re-connected with a drum line partner …Jim Chitkowski (aka Chic James)… Imperials drummer 1960 - 1964.

During (and after) high school, Jim was the drummer for a local band, the New Colony Six. 5 of the 6 founding members of the band are 1964 graduates from St. Patrick High School, in Chicago. Chic James (James Chitkowski), Ray Graffia, Wally Kemp, Pat McBride and Gerry Van Kollenberg.

You may remember the band. The band did well locally and even had some national hits; but they were really mostly known in the Chicago/ northern Illinois area. The band did well during the 60s but started to change after 1970 (members leaving, etc.).

Jim graduated from college (Loyola) and went into telecommunications work. Jim now lives near San Diego and is listed on our alumni directory.

Here is a link to a good bio of the New Colony Six: www.ronnierice.com/colonize
