Sad news- Pat (Schuessler) Haase

Corps alumna Pat (Schuessler) Haase passed away peacefully in her Rolling Meadows home from natural causes on Aug. 27, 2014. She had recently turned 80 years old. Pat was born on Aug. 4, 1934, in Chicago, IL, and attended Taft High School, graduating in 1952.

At age 11, Pat joined the Norwood Park Drum and Bugle Corps, playing a fife, later a bugle. While in the corps she met her eventual husband, Robert Haase. Drum corps was a big part of her family life: Robert also marched in the Skokie Indians and other family members marched in area drum corps. Later in life, Pat was the fond companion of Wayne Mounsey for 23 years (Wayne is a long time friend and fellow member of the Norwood Park 1940s ‘Corps Club’).

Pat's philosophy can be summed up in two favorite declarations: "Family is everything!" and "I'm high on life!" Pat will be missed by many.
