Sad news- Rich Tessitore

Rich Tessitore
Imperials brass 1950s and 1960s

We recently heard of severe health issues, maybe even end-of-life issues, for our fellow alumnus and friend Rich Tessitore. We sent a notice asking for your prayers for Rich .. prayers for healing and for support.

Ruth and I visited Rich today... he was in good spirits but lots of pain. His physical condition has worsened considerably. Rich said: 'Remember the fun and good times we all had together!"

Calls and cards also appreciated, visits if possible.

Sadly, as we all age, we are seeing more situations like this. Bob Minor, Joe Genovese, Ron Ewald and Jim Fiduccia are some recent examples.

We encourage our corps friends to stay in contact with each other. Call and visit each other and talk .. about old times, stories and current issues. Help and encourage each other when possible. Use our corps email list to help with contacts as well.

We see that situations such as this can raise questions…. about the afterlife and about God. We know that Rich has been contacted by many friends and has been uplifted by prayers and support. If you aren’t connected with a local church home, and have questions, you may want to know that fellow alums Dennis and Judy Shannon, as well as Steve and Yvonne Pawela, have been trained in spiritual ministries in this field and have offered to help if needed. Dennis and Judy Shannon can be reached at 949-246-3256 (CA), Steve and Yvonne Pawela can be reached at 630-306-0038 (IL).

Re: Sad news- Rich Tessitore

It is with great sadness we note the passing of our good friend Rich Tessitore (brass, 1950s and 60s) after a courageous battle with cancer. He loved drum corps and everyone involved in the activity, having been a member of the Norwood Park Imperials, The Vanguard Senior Corps, The Royal-Air Alumni Corps and the Classic Cavaliers. Rich also spent considerable time judging drum corps events.
