Urban Tejano Music

Tortilla Records records their artists ideas, and creations and encourages them to be true to their hearts and perform and record what they hear...........We are Tejanos from Texas that do not wish to record Onda only just because we're Tejanos...........our musical styles and diversity go way beyond Tejano...........

But, Just so that our fans and friends don't think we're not thinking about our own music and how to help La Onda in it's present state of struggling in so many ways...............

We here at Tortilla Records looked deeply at how we can help the Tejano Music Industry and started working on a different style in arranging and and putting new colors in our music that gave it a different sound right away.......

It's still Tortilla Factory but with a new sound a new singer.....Alfredo Antonio....... and a new and young Tortilla factory.

Music is all about youth, progress, and direction..............

Charro Negro will still be here but the emphasis is ..........in introducing a new young and very good singer to La onda.....
It's up to the Industry to get on the same team with everybody else that's working on giving La Onda a boost.

Remember..............everything we record is game for airplay at Tortilla Records......home of "Urban Tejano Music"

Thank You........Tony Ham

Re: Urban Tejano Music

Ham, I'm anticipating your release of Urban Tejano music. One of the issues that we always have is when artists label themselves as Urban Tejano. Collectively it always really means "Urban Cumbia". But for some reason, I don't think that is what you have in mind.

Do you have a tentative release date?

Re: Urban Tejano Music

Hi TAP.........Yes ...our next album release which is hopefully in November or December brings the new "Urban Tejano Sound which we have created in the style, the music, and the thought process which took some time and respect for the music itself.

Since we are bringing it to everybody on the new album ......we have decided that any style we do at Tortilla Records is Our doing so we will call everything we produce as Urban Tejano......no matter if it's Salsa, R&B, Hip Hop, Tropical, Pop En Esapañol, R&B Ballads, Neo Soul, Latin Jazz, etc.
We are a real Label in the sense that we have been working on artist development and writing and creating original music which will be in the new album.

We have people on staff that write, arrange, Score compose, transcribe, etc. etc.

We have not played a cumbia in 25 years and instead we are the only Tejano musicians that are considered real Salseros by all the salsa musicians that know us. Our Salsa gets airplay in New York and Miami

Urban Tejano is the sound we worked on and finally arranged it and will now record it...they are Rancheras Tejanas done with a new jazzier and more elegant approach without losing the real feel of La Onda. They have alegria, punch, and lots of feeling and soul which is the definition of our music.
hope this helps.....Ham
