Re: Bob G.

Shelly- thank you so much for this website and keeping everyone updated.

Over the past year and a half, I have experienced more loss of loved ones, friends and aquaintances than I have in my entire life. I had a really hard time turning 40. I kept thinking and still do think that I am pretty much at the half way marker in my life. As I was approaching my 40th Birthday I kept thinking back about the first half of my life- and it seems to have gone by so fast. I decided that when I turned 40 it was time to start doing all those things that I was affraid to do; try new things, make some memories. I decided that at 40, cleaning my house so it was spotless didn't need to happen anymore, rushing around to find the perfect Birthday and Christmas gifts didn't have to be stressful anymore, that is okay to occasionally let the laundry pile up and the girls could pull out dirty clothes and wear them agian. I swore that I wasn't going to argue with my mother-in-law anymore and just give in to the fact that her opinion is the only one that matters. I am trying not to stress about the little things- spilt milk just after I mopped the floor, the dog chewing on the chair leg, my garage being clutterd with bikes, scooters and skates but no car, needing to get the deck stained, cellulite (OK that one I still worry about). But I am trying to give thanks everyday that I am healthy for one more day. That my family is healthy- for one more day. Loss is a powerful emotion and it can really bring your life down if you let it. Tyring to cope with the loss of someone is easier when the loss is shared by others. At the age of 41, loosing a friend, an aquantance, a family member, makes you think about your own mortality.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of our classmates and their families in their time of loss.
My we all find the strength and courage to carry on our lives in such a way that we may look back at a ripe old age and say- I had a great life.

Re: Bob G.

For those who are curious what type of cancer Bob had it was Pancreatic cancer...last August he had achieved the one year survival rate...quite an achievement for this type of cancer.
(Thanks to Laura for the info)

Re: Bob G.

Laura just wrote me and told me that Bob passed away this morning. Tim Sheldon was there and sat through the night with Bob and his mom.

I actually thank Bob (& Tim and a few others) for turning me onto The Beatles...and other music of that generation. When we had down time during rehearsals of Brigadoon senior year, a group of us hung out in the office just off stage (it held all the old yearbooks I think) and they'd all listen to 60's and early 70's music. I did not like that music...but then I heard "My Guitar" and start to like it. Now I love it! Thank You Bob!

He will truly be missed. Please keep his wife, Janet, son, Albert(5) and family in our prayers.

Shelly

Re: Bob G.

I googled and found this obituary for Bob. It's hard to believe and so sad. He, Rob Collier, Toni Calabrese and I sat together alot at lunch our junior year and he was a riot. I remember way back then he was saving money to buy a computer. I remember how amazing that seemed that he would be able to purchase a "personal computer". My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and son.
