plane crash

From the Fremont News-Messenger Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Gene Damschroder, 86, of Fremont was flying his plane, a single-engine 1968 Cessna, carrying five others during the annual Fly-In and Drive-In breakfast at the airport on Ohio 53 when the accident happened around 1 p.m. just south of Fremont, according to Lt. Brent Meredith of the Fremont post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Four of the five passengers killed in the tragic accident were also Sandusky County residents. Those killed included Bill Ansted, 62, of Lindsey, Allison Ansted, 23, of Lindsey, Danielle Gerwin, 31, of Gibsonburg, Emily Gerwin, 4, of Gibsonburg and Matt Clearman, 25, of Maumee.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected by the plane crash and the loss of their loved ones.

Re: plane crash

Thanks Wendy. Gene was my Great Uncle. My kids and I had flown with him MANY times. Our whole family is stunned by what happened. I just don't know what to say to the other families. Keep all in your prayers!
