So excited to see Sonny at Crossroads this weekend!! Is anyone else going? Pretty stacked lineup with him, ZZ Top, Clapton, King, and The Allman Bros. Also pumped to see Robert Randolph, heard he's a pretty exciting performer. He also has a new CD with a free track download after you register at his site, definitely worth checking out! http://bit.ly/98aXE7
So, are there any reports from this show yet? I heard that Sonny lead off the whole thing again with another barely 20 minute set. I sure hope that EC found a way to call Sonny out with one of the other bands or jams later. Maybe with the Allmans canceling they had some extra time to fill?
How was some of the acoustic stuff, Bert Jansch and Stefan Grossman?
Let's have some reports, please, and photos!
somewhat answering my own question:
Thanks, Jim!!! No word on Sonny returning to the main stage later in the day--but he did a killer solo version of Congo Square in the Village (on Youtube).
According to http://picasaweb.google.com/rmurray392/CrossroadsGuitarFestival2010?feat=directlink#5487494298330648130 (copy and paste, then scroll forward and back to get all views) there are several shots of show finale in which Sonny appears. He's wearing the same shirt he started in many hours earlier although that fashion maven Eric Clapton is in an entirely different outfit.
Were you able to attend? I haven't been able to catch a Sonny show in over a year now since he hasn't been coming to the west coast :o( I really could use a good fix of some Sonny music too!
Hope the Holiday season is good to everyone! I will have two weeks off between semesters in which I hope to post some more photo submissions. In case you haven't stopped by the photo gallery in a few months, I did post a bunch of new photos a couple of months ago, stop by and take a look!
Does anyone have the set list for Sonny Landreth at Crossroads? Now that the DVD is out, I want to make sure that I can remember the concert as it really was, not just the bits on the DVD. Thanks.
