RALPH HORSFIELD

Sadly my dad passed away at 11.30 am on Sunday 15 June 2014 - on Fathers Day. He took on the full force of Parkinson\\\'s Disease and was so determined to slay this beast. Aspiration pneumonia was the final hurdle and it took his life. Dad died peacefully and my wonderful brother Mike was with him to the end. Our dad was our hero who loved his family so much. He didn\\\'t want to let us down by giving in to this monster of a disease - you would not believe his courage and determination. My father was just the best example of any veteran soldier who continued to find ways of surviving against adversity.
Sans Peur forever!!!

Re: RALPH HORSFIELD

Jacqui,
So sorry to hear of your dads passing. He was one of the greatest, strict but fair, thanks to him and men like "Taffy" Street, (the best RSM the Bn. ever had), my life in the army was made barable, I thourally engoyed working with him in the MT. Singapore and Plymouth. I am sure others will agree with me.
My deepest condolences.
R I P Ralph.

Re: RALPH HORSFIELD

Jacqui, yes, I would and do believe the determination and courage of Ralph Horsfield.
as wee Archie has mentioned he was a strict disciplinarian but he was honest and fair and as a subordinate of his, thats all that a person needs.
It is a pleasure to have known him.
R.I.P. Horsy
