The dragon is an astronomical figure of speech. The signs in the heavens depicting the end of days make me think the New Testament is largely metaphorical for the transition of the Age of Pieces into the Age of Aquarius. The signs in the heavens show wonders when the ages shift every 2,150 years or so.

What if the rapture is metaphorical?
What if Jesus is metaphorical for the Christ Consciousness?

That would make sense. If God truly loved us, wouldn't God want to lock Satan away forever and throw away the key, not to loose him again to go out and deceive the nations after a time?

I think religion did a number on us. I'm convinced the catholics made up the story of christ crucified to control innocent people for the last several hundred years using fear and guilt.

Its true and its good to release the devil again so God can see who Will follow the devil to hell and who Will follow Jesus to new heaven and new earth.

With just a "nuke" all Will be settled at the end of Millennium.
