I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never hold their peace day or night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 KJV
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The concept of the Rapture is often linked to passages in the New
Testament, including Luke 17:34–37, where Jesus describes how
people will be “taken” while others are “left” at the coming of the
Son of Man. This imagery resonates with the story of Enoch in
Genesis 5:24, where Enoch “walked with God; then he was no
more, because God took him.” Enoch’s translation to heaven
without seeing death is seen as a foreshadowing of the Rapture,
symbolizing God’s deliverance of the righteous.
In Luke, Jesus emphasizes the sudden and unexpected nature
of His return, urging believers to be prepared. This ties into the
broader biblical narrative that Jesus is coming soon (Revelation 22:20).
The connection underscores themes of faithfulness, readiness, and
the hope of being caught up to meet the Lord in the air as described
in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17.
