Bronze Letter Opener

HI: I have been given this item after my grandfather passed away and I can't find out any information about it so any help would be most kind.
The item is::::Sword Shaped Letter Opener
I am not sure if it is all bronze or if part of it is brass as well. Height 1.6 inchs, lenght 9.3 inchs, not very wide at all and weights 2.2ozs. It has engraving of front and back. Front is engraves with the name of Ricordo Venerio and on the handle there is a crest of a flying monkey. Back is engraved with temples and the back part of the handle there is also a crest of a flying monkey.
So any help with this item would be most kind and if interested in helping me I could also send you some pictures of the letter opener from my web cam but I am not to good with computers.
Email me at Harpoon000@hotmail.com
Thanks "D" Harpoon
