SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Its only Mayhem

Hi guys n gals, Ive just had some bad news,one of my riders who is a downhill geek has just broken his shoulder, so I really think he wont be competing at mountain mayhem with my team 'epping over 35'. We are a mixed team that are going out there to have a good time and enjoy the race,so no pressure. We are seeking a rider male or female who is able to stand in if needed, 18th,20th, June Eastnor Castle deer park.Oh and you dont have to be over 35! ha...ha....

Thanks Jonathan for your interest, we have a Rider who is willing to race with us now, however would you be interested as a stand in if any probs that could/may arise?.How about a team for the Thetford mtb dusk til dawn which is later on in the year?. It would be nice if we could get a team together for that one,for us slower pace Riders but still keen ones. Maybe Pasty Tom would be up for that one too?????. Thanks Shelton.
