SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Some stuff to give away

Hi everyone,
Ade and I may be moving house so had a bit of a clear out, was wondering if anyone is interested in the following:

Mavic 315 wheel, we can't rememember what is wrong with it but it is at least somewhat bent, it is a disc wheel with specialized hubs. We are too lazy to try and fix it up.

A bike rack that used to fit on the back of our Nissan Micra. From halfords i think.

5 DH racing inner tubes that I bought to go to the alps, decided were too chunky and never got round to sending back.

Howies merino ladies top, size M. Very nice but I find it itchy so it is hardly worn!!

Let me know if anyone is interested, otherwise it will go on freecycle!

Re: Some stuff to give away

Dunno if I'm too late, but if they're still available, I'll have the wheels and the tubes.

Cheers,
Gavin.
