SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Ride Yesterday... I'm fine!

Hi,

I would like to say thanks to the people who did the ride yesterday, for the Duncan tour -thanks too- and the blowout...

It was a nice ride, but then in the ride back I was too tired -too wind and this damned heavy rain in the final part, too much for my catalan sun&beach body ;) I lost the group just when I passed Hill Road corner with Station Road, where the Soldier monument is.... As I didn't see you, I turned then to Parker's Piece and I went home, becouse I supposed that once in Cambridge you did the same...

Well, thanks for all and see you next week,

F

Re: Ride Yesterday... I'm fine!

Hey Francesc,

Sorry about that - it was so damn cold and wet, I just headed straight for home once we hit the edge of Cambridge. Was a good ride though, despite a couple of mechanicals along the way and the somewhat damp weather!! Hopefully we'll get some more dry rides before summer arrives!!

cheers,
Rich
