SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Oct 12th Ride

Hi,

I'm new to the area and wandered if i could join you on your ride tonight. Short notice i know but Uni is taking its toll.

I read on an earlier post that lights are needed, i don't own any bright ones, just the flashing road lights. could someone lend me a set for tonight?

lastly, I've seen that the ride is called 'Hare & Hounds' but is the meeting place still the same?

Cheers

Oliver

Re: Oct 12th Ride

Hi Oliver,
As usual the ride starts from the usual place tonight. Sorry to be harsh but especially now it is getting dark early, for yours & our safety.....NO LIGHTS NO RIDE
If you allow enough time (think ahead a bit) then sometimes people do lend lights. or check out http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.30864
for a good cheap light.
Hope to see you out soon.
