SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Friday afternoon conversation starter: Rockshox Sector Vs Marzocchi 55

Hey all,
Does anyone have an opinion/advice on this?
I am in the market for a new set of forks for my big bike. I want about 140mm travel, 20mm axle and coil spring (as I a fat bas***) 1 1/8 steerer, and I have about £300.

I have narrowed the choice down to the following

Marzocchi 55 RV (2011) 160mm travel (adjustable to 140 with an internal spacer)

Vs

RockShox Sektor RL Coil U-Turn Maxle Lite Forks (2011)
110 - 150mm travel adjustable

Both these are about £300

Any input or an alternative that I don't know about would be great?

Happy fridays!

Nope, I have no opinion or advice at all. I just wanted to continue the conversation.

Oh, alright then...

Ads,

I have a pair of Rockshox Revelations (coil/air) on my CARBON BEAST and they work very well, thanks.

For 300 notes, you won't go far wrong with Rockshox.

That's me done.
