SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

New Runs List

Dear All,

The Runs List needs some finishing touches so we've put the first month up. My fault as I've been over-run with stuff such as dealing with my late father's flat being sold, rather than finalising the list.

Tonight takes you to the Green Man at Thriplow which, if I'm not mistaken, may be full of daffodils.

My FECUND Frolic is a spring version of my BIG Adventure and Winter Wobble, i.e. a Trailquest style event, free to enter. I pick the pub and the checkpoints, you guys free-style a ride of your making, trying to get as many checkpoints along the way. Veterans will know how it all works but newbies ought to try it. More details to follow, such as the pub.
