SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Ding dong!!

Top ride doiggers, tip top .....Ta

Re: Ding dong!!

No problem!

If we do it (or similar) again I wonder if we should catch an earlier train to avoid the mad sprint to the pub for last orders?

Paul

Re: Ding dong!!

Yeah, excellent ride Paul. The mad sprint felt fine at the time but my legs are telling me about it this morning. Tony

Re: Ding dong!!

Top evening indeed diggers

Re: Ding dong!!

Ditto all the above. I quite enjoyed the mad sprint, but I also would have enjoyed an extra pint...

Which is better? There's only one way to find out...

FIGHT!!!

Looking forward to the next time.

Re: Ding dong!!

Yes definitely an Epic Diggers, well done!

Needless to say I enjoyed the mad sprint too, but would appreciate swapping this for more beer time.

Re: Ding dong!!

Ditto all the above, although I enjoyed the more leisurely sprint and self-nadgering moment on the kerb near the Dernford Farm turn.

We should definitely do this again. Ely anyone?

PT

Re: Ding dong!!

I'd be up for an Ely ride though I leave planning the route to the northern guys who know the tracks better up there.

A quick look at the map and train times today - it'd be very easy to do something similar on the Kings Cross line - Baldock to Shepreth for example is ~ 15 miles.

Re: Ding dong!!

I feel another Covern consultation coming on. Amen

Re: Ding dong!!

One would be happy to select a Baldock ride from one's portfolio..........
