SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Hope disc brake pads for sale

Morning all

Just before our bikes got nicked I bought three sets of pads for my Hope M4s. The new bike has got Formula on so the pads are surplus to requirements. They're currently £14 per set (Evans have them here).

Any sensible offer gets them, or as Duncan recently put it, in a week it's Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's off to Ebay they go!

Cheers
Dom

Re: Hope disc brake pads for sale

ARe they sintered ones Dom?

I have M4s but I usually use organic pads.

in addition if anyone wants some Hope Mono Mini organic pads I have a couple of sets i was going to put on ebay.

Re: Hope disc brake pads for sale

Hi ClaIre

Yes, they're sintered. I've never really got to the bottom of which to go for but consensus seems to be sintered last longer particularly in the wet and give better braking, but can be noisier. Personally, I never really had a noise issue - but some say that's down to set-up on the Hopes and if you get them right neither type should be noisy...

Anyway, back to the matter in hand. Simon has already put in a tentative offer on them, but he's in Germany at the moment and can't remember what brakes he's got. If he has got M4s, he'll have them.

Shall I make you first alternate?

Dom

Re: Hope disc brake pads for sale

mm... I already have a couple of spare sets and think I will stick to organic ones for now, but thanks!

How does Simon not know what brakes he has and can you geeks not tell from the levers in the picture above?

Re: Hope disc brake pads for sale

Hmmmmm...

Simon?
