SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Planning to get out tonight but it will be subject to the M25 and some bike reassembling!

Re: White Swan, Quy

hope to be out tonight,

don't remember that night Pat as I wasn't there. Did it involve crashing?

Pat's obviously setting out his stall for this years nostalgic "incident" award which I believe is to be a new category.

What tyres Pat?-hope they're nice & tready & watch out for the hippos.

Re: White Swan, Quy

I'm hoping to be out too.

Re: White Swan, Quy

This time I'm playing safe and using my brand new UST ready Rocket Ron's.
I've used RR's for 3 years now and hardly ever needed more tread than that, I just dropped the pressure.

When I crashed I was using an under inflated Panaracer Razer MX 2.3 on the front and it just peeled off the rim on landing, followed by a big white explosion of Stans and a fast uncontrolled landing.

Par for the course really.
