SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Wicken Bonhunt next week

Hi Guys, sorry but Ade has to go to America with work next week so can we please postpone the Wicken Bonhunt ride?

It would be good if we could do it the week starting 28th July as we have no kids that week so me and Ade could both come out.

Re: Wicken Bonhunt next week

A postponement would suit me as I can no longer make next Tuesday

Re: Wicken Bonhunt next week

It has now become even more important that we postpone, as my front wheel had a small problem after interfacing with Paul Stafford's van

(I left it in BCP carpark, Paul ran over it!!) Fortunately it looks like it's ok apart from the rotor and skewer. The bike shop were impressed with its resiliance and wanted to know where it was built!

Re: Wicken Bonhunt next week

Glad the wheel isn't too bad!

Re: Wicken Bonhunt next week

That\'s why Renault supply all their vans standard with The 'Which daft vertically challenged person left that ****ing bike there' reversing aid (a £9600 + vat option with VAG)
