SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

E-bike

Hi guys,

Any of you on an e-bike? I have a converted mountain e-bike and would love to join. Never done off-road with it though, but I guess it should be fine. How muddy are the tracks you are using? Is it mainly off road?

Thanks,

David

Re: E-bike

Well, this is a first. Do you not want to feel the buzz of pedaling, feeling your heart beat rapidly and getting a real buzz that lasts a couple of days?
Why not get rid of the motor and bring the bike along and enjoy!?!

Re: E-bike

Hi David,

If the electric conversion is based on a decent mountain bike, then I would think it should be fine around Cambridge... at least while it's fairly dry, although I do wonder how it the extra weight would affect it or if it would get gummed up with clay once the countryside turns into the winter bog...

I don't actually know much about e-bikes, but my sister has one which (because long-term illness otherwise prevents her riding more than an hour or so) lets her go out on proper rides.

Re: E-bike

importing a us TRAIL TRACKER is the way to go!
