SAFETY BRIEFING.
- Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
- Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
- Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
- When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
- Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
- Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
- Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

I reckon that, given the right amount of decongestants, I could make it out tonight.
Given my frail condition, I might have to roll along at the back, rather than duking it out with the fast-ones at the front as usual. 
Anyone else out?

provided i make it home in time, i will be out.
last night it took 1 Hour 45 mins and a new tyre for the car.
here is hoping it will be better tonight, i need to get the summer tyre off the bike before i come out too.
Looks like a bit of a moist one this evening. I'm planning to be out as long as there are no more monsoon down pours between now and later...!

I am keeping my summer tyres on. I reckon that lot (of rain) has only just settled the dust (he lied).
At least you'll get a tail wind home from Melbourn......
