SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Re: Meet Dame Sarah Storey...

STOP PRESS!

Sorry to disappoint, but Dame Sarah has announced that due to a hotel mix up, which leaves her over an hour away from the Stage 1 start in BSE, she will no longer be able to appear at Revel Outdoors on Tuesday evening. After pre-riding the route for Stage 1, then the press call, she will need to have a massage, eat and sleep before the big race. There just wasn't enough time to fit everything in.

However, the 2015 Women's Tour of Britain Team Presentations will still be taking place in Bury earlier in the evening, and of course, Revel Outdoors will be welcoming everyone to their store for a relaxed evening of female friendly bike chat from 7pm.

There may yet be appearances from some other Team Riders, who will be staying locally.

Hope to see some of you there!
